Traditional Silk Fabric
We are the online shop of Baan Krua silk, the original silk weaving of Jim Thompson. The shop was set up by Mr.Anant Benjarongjinda who worked with Jim Thompson for more than 30 years. He knows all the processes of producing silk. After Mr. Thompson disappeared in Malaysia, he continued in his business as silk is in his blood. He has been in silk business for over 50 years.
At present, most premium silk shops use machines to produce silk fabric, we still retain the traditional style method by using loom and skillful people. So our exclusive silk carries the imprint of the weaver’s character and emotion. The special dye technique and the tight weaving method create our premium silk fabric. The twist method is by using different colors between the warp and the weft. Fabrics range from single ply up to six ply.

Our Thai raw silk scarf is a 100% hand woven silk which is very soft and light weight. Its charm is the imperfection of the handmade silk fabric which you can find some rough thread on it. Color is variety and it maybe slightly different shade. It can be 1-tone or 2-tone. Use them as beautiful neck scarves, head scarves, or waist wraps. Combine two colors for flair; use them as wraps for precious items or as table covers, altar cloths, and lamp covers.
